Florence Cement Co. has informed the Board of Directors that they have identified Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 as their tentative date for the paving of the final layer of asphalt on our roadways. This tentative date could be moved earlier if they experience a non-weather related delay on a different paving project but it is more likely to be moved later because of rain delays caused this week by the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Florence Cement has assured the Board that our final paving will be completed before the end of the 2012 asphalt paving season.
Florence Cement must first complete the removal and paving of the small saw-cut sections of our damaged paving before the final paving can occur here at the Manors. Once the damaged paving repairs are complete, Florence Cement will give the Board their firm date for the final paving and the Board will then distribute a flyer to each door in the Manors. That flyer will provide complete information, including the “rain date” if the final paving needs to be postponed because of rain in the forecast. Except for the residents of Units 1 through 14, any vehicles you will need to drive between the hours of 7 AM through 7 PM on the day of final paving must be parked off-site – no traffic (other than emergency vehicles) will be permitted on our streets once the paving begins at 7 AM. The Board plans to rent a four passenger golf cart and will provide a taxi service for those residents who need a ride to get to and from their parked vehicle on the day of final paving (the golf cart will use the rear yards to get back and forth). The flyer will include full information on where you may park and how to arrange a pick-up by the golf cart.
